Eddie Hartnett, CMAA, Boulder High School’s Athletic and Activities Director, was the Director of District Athletics and Activities for Adams 12 Five Schools from 2009-2015. He has been an athletic director for nineteen years in Boulder Valley and Adams 12 Five Star School Districts. Not only has he been an athletic/activities director at the district level, he was the 5A AD at Northglenn High School and 2A AD at Nederland High School giving him unique and diverse experience at different high school levels. In January of 2015 he was elected the President of the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA). He has been an elected member of the CHSAA Board of Directors representing District 6 since 2012. He has also been the CHSAA Equity Chair since 2002 and has served on various committees over the years including CHSAA’s Legislative Council, Board of Control, CHSAA Vision, CHSAA Sports Medicine Committee, baseball, and basketball committees. He has coached swimming, baseball, football, and basketball and was elected to two terms as the Front Range League President.
Eddie has served on various CHSAA panels over the years and has had the recent honor of representing Colorado High Schools on the Colorado Special Olympic Board of Directors. He has received numerous prestigious awards such as the 2003 CHSAA Board of Control Distinguished service Award, the 2008 runner up AP of the year by Colorado Association of School Executives, the 2012 Kirby Lyle Colorado Athletic Director Association Award, and in 2008 he became the only current Colorado High School AD to achieve the Certified Master Athletic Administrator (CMAA) title by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association. Mr. Hartnett has been an elected board member of the Colorado Athletic Directors Association (CADA) since 2007, and was nominated for the NIAAA to represent Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, as the 2014 NIAAA Section 6 Frank Kovaleski Professional Development Award in recognition for excellence as an athletic director at the local, state and national level. Eddie is a regular presenter at the CHSAA All School Summit and an instructor at various athletic director conferences and classes.
