test is a college reportable score. When taking the Colorado school day SAT on April 9, 11th grade students have
the choice of taking the SAT with or without the optional essay.

The April 9 SAT is the state assessment and all juniors are pre-registered. There is no cost for this test. When taking the Colorado school day SAT on April 9, 11th grade students have the choice of taking the SAT with or without the optional essay. Adding the free essay to their SAT registration is a student's choice. The default registration for all students is the SAT without essay. Individual students who wish to take the optional free essay must register for it in advance, on the student's College Board account. The essay registration window is open now until Feb. 12, 2019. This will be the ONLY opportunity for students who wish to take the optional essay to add it to their April 9 school day test registration. Students may add the essay to their registration through their online College Board account at collegeboard.org or by calling the College Board.
