February 2025 Principal Message
Dear Boulder High Families,
It’s hard to believe we are already nearing the halfway point of the second semester. February is often seen as a month of transition—the transition from winter to spring, from the first two seasons of high school sports to the final spring season, from the routine of regular school days to the structure of testing days, and even from being a senior in high school to standing on the threshold of graduation.
In these challenging times, stress affects us all in various ways. Yet, I am continually inspired by the resilience of our students and staff, who, despite the complexities of the world around them, show up each day at Boulder High with dedication and determination. Their commitment to making each day A Great Day in the Land of Purple and Gold is truly commendable. Please know that our staff remains steadfast in our mission to support our students, just as we always have.
Registration
Our current 9th–11th grade students are in the process of selecting courses for the 2025–2026 school year. The registration portal is now open and will close at midnight on March 6. Please visit the counseling website at this link for additional information.
Testing
As spring approaches, so does the testing season. For comprehensive information on upcoming assessments, including the SAT and AP exams, please visit the following link.
Boulder High historically experiences a high number of opt-outs, particularly for the CMAS Science test. However, it is important to note that state assessments play an important role in our school's accountability measures. In fact, 30% of our School Performance Framework is based on data from these exams. To learn more about how these assessments impact school ratings, please visit this link from the Colorado Department of Education.
Thank you for being a valued part of the Boulder High community. We look forward to our continued collaboration in supporting our students' growth into well-rounded individuals.
Go Panthers!
Sincerely,
Dr. Morales
