Given each year to two outstanding freshman students as determined by faculty vote based on scholarship, leadership, character, and service.

Given each year to two outstanding sophomore students as determined by faculty vote based on scholarship, leadership, character, and service.

Given each year to two outstanding junior students as determined by faculty vote based on scholarship, leadership, character, and service.

Granted to graduating seniors who have a cumulative GPA of 4.5 or higher.

National Merit Finalists represent the top half of one percent of graduating seniors in the nation. These students have had to meet high academic standards that result in rigorous competition for scholarships.  More information can be found on www.nationalmerit.org. The National Merit Scholarship Program Website also has good information. To be eligible, juniors must take the PSAT/NMSQT offered each October.

Six scholarships are available to Boulder High students with total potential funding of $40,000 for each student. Candidates should have distinguished themselves in their STEM or ECON classes and committed to a STEM or Economics college major. In the spring, eligible seniors who qualify will receive an invitation to apply. GPA and test scores are used to determine eligibility. Contact andrew.bloom@bvsd.org if you have any questions.

Awarded to the outstanding senior member of the Boulder High Band. The recipient is recognized for exceptional musicianship, leadership, dependability, cooperation, and overall solid contribution to the instrumental program at Boulder High School. The award is given in honor of former principal and teacher Jean Bonelli..

Most prestigious Boulder High award given to the outstanding senior, based on service to the school, community leadership, academic excellence, and overall character. Nominated and selected by faculty and given since 1936. This award is named in honor of Dr. W. V. Casey, former Superintendent of Schools.

This award is given in honor of Donna Copeland, a much-respected past Boulder High English teacher. The recipient is chosen for their knowledge of and love for all things literary and a winning sense of humor.

This award is given in honor of Robert S. Hamilton, a teacher at Boulder High School for about 30 years. It was Mr. Hamilton's wish to establish a scholarship fund for an underrepresented student at Boulder High School.

Presented in appreciation of a former Boulder High English teacher. It honors the outstanding senior who has demonstrated overall excellence in English courses for four years.

Awarded to an outstanding senior member of the Boulder High Orchestra. The recipient is recognized for leadership, hard work, resilience, and integrity in orchestra, our school, and our community. The award is given in honor of mentor, performer, and music educator Areta Kalogeras.

The Paddock Award recognizes excellence in student journalism at Boulder High School.

Nominated by the faculty and selected by the Counseling Office. This award goes to a student who has overcome personal obstacles on the path to graduation.

For over 30 years Rick Sinner taught art at BHS and helped build our outstanding program. The Rick Sinner Award honors this commitment for excellence in the Arts.

Given in memory of Cara Calitre, former BHS student. This scholarship can be applied to a degree with a focus on environmental studies, atmospheric science, natural resources, sustainability, or outdoor studies.

Althea Goss Pearlman was a member of the Boulder High School Math Department faculty for twenty years. She was a dedicated and compassionate teacher who impacted countless young students of mathematics. She was a champion for women in mathematics and her family would like to recognize our leading female mathematics student with a scholarship in her name. The scholarship recipient is chosen by the BHS Math Department; students do not need to apply.

Established in May 2022, the Dr. James A. Hill Scholarship Fund is founded on the belief that students committed to the virtues of compassion and dignity, while promoting the importance of mental health within their school and community, should have the opportunity to further their education. Selected recipients of this award will receive a one-time scholarship award of $1000.00.

A one-year scholarship granted to two graduating seniors who have made a difference at BHS or in the community. Vintage Panthers are fifty-year alumni of Boulder High. All BHS seniors are invited to apply for this scholarship in the spring.

The Warfield Panther Scholarship was established in 2023 in honor of Melissa Warfield and her 31 years as an educator and leader at Boulder High.  The scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates determination, grit, perseverance and commitment to the BHS community through engagement and/or service.  Priority will be given to students who express a desire to become an educator.  Recipients will receive a one time scholarship award of $1,000.

A $1000 scholarship for a BVSD and Boulder High School graduate who participated in the AVID program and can demonstrate financial need for college. Jeff Howenstein was an energetic dedicated Boulder High School teacher who had a deep belief in the power of the AVID program. Jeff, or “Howie,” taught many AVID students during his time at Boulder High. He always encouraged and challenged his AVID students to grow to reach their academic and social potential.
