Hello Panther Families!
My name is Wendy Pearson. I am your Boulder High School Grad Plus Site Lead. What that means is, that I support students in signing up/registering for opportunities beyond the regular graduation requirements. Check out the LINK HERE to discover some AMAZING opportunities that YOUR student can take advantage of in high school.
Important information:
1. Summer Leadership Academy! Attention current 10th and 11th graders: Are you eager to enhance your leadership skills and get a jumpstart on your career? Apply to the BVSD Summer Leadership Academy for Summer 2025!
The program features work-based readiness workshops from June 2nd to June 6th, followed by an internship where you’ll gain hands-on experience, working 20 hours per week from June 9th to July 3rd. Plus, you’ll receive a $500 stipend upon completing the program. Spots are limited for this amazing opportunity, so don’t miss out on the chance to grow and prepare for your future!

2. Seal of Biliteracy at BHS! BVSD regards being Bilingual as a Superpower!
Did you know that your student could achieve a certification that demonstrates Biliteracy through the prestigious Seal of Biliteracy?

4. ASSOCIATE’S DEGREE IN HIGH SCHOOL!
Did you know that your student could achieve a tuition free Associate’s Degree while still enrolled in High School?
In partnership with Front Range Community College, BVSD
Students can earn a two-year associate degree that will transfer to any public four-year school in Colorado. THAT’S TWO YEARS OF 4 YEAR COLLEGE FOR FREE!!

The University of Colorado Boulder Women’s Law Caucus Invites BHS Women to Women in Law Day (WiLD) 2025 - February 15
Every year, the Women's Law Caucus at Colorado Law invites high school and undergraduate students across Colorado to the Boulder campus to learn about law school, discover legal career opportunities, and envision themselves pursuing this advanced degree. The goal of Women in Law Day is to encourage young women of all backgrounds to consider a career in law.

BVSD Career and College Connections is offering three college campus tours in January as follows:
- FRCC Westminster- 01/17/2025
- FRCC Boulder County Campus- 01/24/2025
- Metro State Uni, Denver- 01/31/2025
If you are interested in attending one or more of these campus tours please complete the Google Form HERE.
Please note that this is a district field trip, and the bus will leave from and return to BOULDER TEC- not Boulder High, 9am-2pm. Permission slips can be picked up from your Grad Plus Site Lead, Wendy Pearson, and must be signed and returned by January 10, 2025 in order to participate.

LIT 2005 Race Culture and Ethnicity (GT-AH2): 3 College Credits (Meets 5 credits of BVSD ELA Electives). The course is Online Asynchronous from January 20 to May 12. Click HERE for more information
Learn about the Seal of Climate Literacy
In this class, students will explore cutting-edge topics such as decarbonization, biotechnology, nanomaterials, and renewable energy. CU is offering their CHEN 1000 Creative Technology course this spring. This 3-credit class will meet at CU on T/Th 3:30-4:45 pm. For class details and registration information click HERE
