Juniors: Do You Want to Add the Essay to Your SAT Test on April 13?

Information for junior parents and students: On April 13, 2021, all 11th-grade students will take the SAT at Boulder High School. The result of this test is a college-reportable score.

The April 13 SAT is the state assessment and all juniors are pre-registered. There is no cost for this test.

When taking the Colorado school day SAT on April 13, 11th-grade students have the choice of taking the SAT with or without the optional essay. Adding the free essay to their SAT registration is a student’s choice. The default registration for all students is the SAT without essay. Individual students who wish to take the optional free essay must register for it in advance, on the student’s College Board account. The essay registration window is open Jan. 18–Feb. 16, 2021. This will be the ONLY opportunity for students who wish to take the optional essay to add it to their April 13 school day test registration. Students may add the essay to their registration through their online College Board account at collegeboard.org or by calling College Board during the essay registration window. Information about the optional essay can be seen here: https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat/inside-the-test/essay
