BHS Freshman

August 15, 2024: First day of classes for all students (periods 1-8)

For the first day of school, we will follow a Regular 8-Period Bell Schedule. Period 1 begins at 8:35 am. For more information, link to the Bell Schedule for Boulder HS website.

Course Selection & Class Schedules

The Freshman Course Selection Form as well as the Freshman Course List can be found on the BHS Counseling Forms Website. The Academic Planning Guide (APG) and Course Catalog are also good resources.

Class schedules will be available in Infinite Campus mid-August. If you have a 504, your middle school will send the information to Boulder High over the summer. Information about changing classes and what the graduation requirements are can be found on the BHS Schedule Change Website and BHS Graduation Requirements Website, respectively.

*Note: Please have access to a copy of your schedule and have it available at school, especially the first week of school.

Summer Homework/Reading

Students in Advanced 9th Grade English Language Arts are expected to do some reading over the summer.  View the BHS Summer Homework Website for more details.

Fall Athletics & Summer Sports Conditioning

All Rising 9th Grade students are encouraged to participate in Boulder High's sports activities over the summer.  More information about the summer conditioning program can be found on the BHS Summer Conditioning Website or by contacting Coach Bishop at ryan.bishop@bvsd.org. 

Also, many fall sports begin informal workouts and training in the summer to prepare for the fall athletic season.  Information about the sport and head coach contact can be found on the BHS Athletics Website. Be sure to contact the head coach early in the summer to get practice information as this is a great way to get connected and meet other BHS students before school starts.

Each counselor is teamed with an administrator to represent and support the student body and their families based on the student's last name. Student ID-FOB

Boulder High issues a student ID to every BHS student which includes a photo identification and an electronic FOB allowing entry into the school building during school hours. School photos that are taken at the BHS Check-in event are used for this student ID.  IDs are handed out on your first day of school in the fall.  Lost student IDs can be replaced for a fee. Lockers

Watch for locker sign up information in August to submit a locker request. Locker assignments and padlocks are handed out on your first day of school in the fall. Padlocks for the lockers are issued by Boulder High and a one-time fee of $10 must be paid.

School Supplies for Boulder HS

There is no standard school supply list at the high school level. During the first week of school, each individual teacher will provide a supply list for their class. It is a good idea to bring a notebook and a pen to school for the first few days of school.
