At BVSD SCHOOLS THERE IS A NO CELL PHONE POLICY
Students at Boulder High School should not have their phones out from 8:00am when they enter the building to 3:55 when they leave. This includes off periods and lunch periods. Students will have access to school phones in order to call home or in case of emergency. Below is the list of consequences for violating this policy. CONSEQUENCE

First Offense
|
When requested, the student will surrender their phone. The student will pick up their phone from the assistant principal in the main office at the end of the school day (3:55 pm).

Second Offense
|
When requested, the student will surrender their phone. The student’s parent will be notified, and the parent must pick up the cell phone from the assistant principal at the end of the school day (3:55) pm.
|
|
Third Offense
|
When requested, the student will surrender their phone. The student's parent and student pick up the cell phone from the assistant principal at the end of the school day. Subsequently, the student must check their cell phone/electronic device into the main office at the beginning of each day in addition to serving 1 lunch detention and 1 off hour detention.

Fourth Offense
|
Consequences include the loss of cell phone privileges for the remainder of the school year and 4 hours of community service. A fourth offense of the electronic use policy is considered insubordination and subject to even further disciplinary action according to the Boulder High School Discipline matrix.

DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR: REFUSAL TO GIVE CELL PHONE, ELECTRONIC DEVICE, EARBUDS TO STAFF MEMBER

First Offense
|
A restorative conference will be held between teacher and student. Additionally, students will not be permitted to attend school activities such as sporting events, plays or extracurricular activities. A suspension re-entry must be completed with an administrator to resume participation in school events and activities.
